Telephone Numbers are provisioned by Rev.io in BroadWorks implicitly, based on other actions. For example, if you provision a BroadWorks User through Rev.io, and include a telephone number with it (in the Phone Number field), Rev.io will automatically associate that number with the user/group/enterprise as appropriate.

DIDs not yet supported

BroadWorks offers the ability to have multiple numbers associated with a user through the Alternative Numbers product, but Rev.io doesn't currently support DIDs to be provisioned in this fashion. This means that extra steps are required if you are using Telephone Number Inventory in Rev.io and wish to coordinate with Rev.io's BroadWorks Provisioning.

Process Flow:

Group Numbers

  • When initially provisioning a BroadWorks Group, or on a Change Order modifying a BroadWorks Group, if the Calling Line ID Phone Number field is populated, Rev.io will first attempt to associate the number with the Group (if it is not already). To do this, the following steps are taken:
  • A list of currently associated numbers with the Enterprise (or Service Provider) associated with this Group is collected.
  • If the number requested (Calling Line ID Phone Number) is found to be associated with another Group, an error occurs.
  • If the number is not yet associated with any Group, it will create at the Enterprise (or Service Provider) level if necessary, and then create at the Group level.

Group Caller ID

If a Group's Caller ID (Calling Line ID Phone Number) is not set, when the first Telephone Number is created at the Group level, Rev.io will automatically modify the Group and add set the Caller ID to this number.

User Numbers

  • When initially provisioning a BroadWorks User, or on a Change Order modifying a BroadWorks User, if the Phone Number field is populated, Rev.io will first attempt to associate the number with the Group (if it is not already). To do this, the following steps are taken:
  • A list of currently associated numbers with the Enterprise (or Service Provider) associated with this Group is collected.
  • If the number requested (Phone Number) is found to be associated with another Group, an error occurs.
  • If the number is not yet associated with any Group, it will create at the Enterprise (or Service Provider) level if necessary, and then create at the Group level.
