Late fees

Late fees can be automatically added to a customer's account once the account balance is past due. Rev.io supports late fees as a flat rate or a percentage of the amount past due.

  1. To setup Late Fees, go to Settings > Bill Profiles. Select a Bill Profile to edit by clicking on the profile line item.
  2. Go to the Options tab on the far right of the Bill Profile and click Edit

  3. Select the Collections tab.

  4. Complete the form below by specifying the following information.
    • Days – Designate the number of dates past the due date at which the fee should apply to the account.
    • Minimum – Designate the minimum balance threshold required to trigger the late fee.
    • Flat Fee – If using a flat fee amount, specify the amount in this field.
    • Percent Fee – If using a percent of the balance past due, specify the amount in this field.
    • Minimum Late Fee Charged – If a specific minimum fee must be charged regardless of percent, designate in this field.
    • Apply Per Service – Check this option if the fee should be applied to each line otherwise the fee will be applied at the account level.

Knowing that some states have specific laws pertaining to late fees, Rev.io allows for two state exemptions.

  • State – Provide the state abbreviation for exemption.
  • Days – Designate the number of dates past the due date at which the fee should apply to the account.
  • Minimum – Designate the minimum balance threshold required to trigger the late fee.
  • Fee – Use this field to specify the flat fee or percentage.
  • Type – Designate if the Fee field is a flat fee or a percentage.
  • Minimum Late Fee Charged – If a specific minimum fee must be charged regardless of percent, designate in this field.
